Portimão is the largest city in the western part of the Algarve. The older part is known for its variety of shops, wide choice of typical restaurants, and its famous grilled sardines. You can board a boat trip up the river to the medieval town of Silves, or a big game fishing adventure trip on the Atlantic Ocean.
